Welcome to Mama's Love!
Designed to meet the needs of my family & budget,
all of my products are made with care for yours!
How do I activate my weekly delivery?
Simply call our office as soon as you are ready to begin the diaper service. Wet diapers can mildew if left for more than 7 days, so please call us as soon as you start using them. Your account will be charged for any diapers that are left long enough to mildew, as they will become your property at that point. Once we hear from you, we'll get to you on the next delivery day. We expect to hear from you within a month of your pre-arrival delivery. If we haven't heard from you by then, we will follow up with a phone call or email.
Will I get the same diapers back?
Yes - your service is personalized. The diapers you send home with us are the very same diapers you will get back the following week – plus, your diapers are always wash by themselves (never with other families’ diapers).
What if I am not home?
There's no reason to be home. We make cloth diapering easy as can be! Simply leave your diapers in the predetermined spot the night before your delivery day. You don't need to be home to accept the clean diapers either. We'll leave them for you. At your pre-arrival, we'll establish a place where diapers can be left regardless of the weather conditions.
What if I miss a pick up? No need to worry! The first time this happens, just give us a call and we'll either arrange to come back out as a courtesy. After that, there is a $10 transportation fee plus any applicable delivery fee. You may occasionally drop forgotten diapers off at our Manchester location. Repeat forgetters may be terminated from the delivery service. Our main concern is that a wet diaper will begin to mold if left for more than 1 week. Customers who allow their diapers to mold will be required to purchase any that develop mold-stains (but we'll wash them first for you, of course).
Can you deliver to my babysitter's?
We can deliver to your home, your sitter's or your daycare center. We will deliver to the location of your choice within our delivery area. One delivery location is included with your service, and is not subject to change.
Why is there a delivery fee?
As a diaper service in a rural area, one of our greatest expenses is fuel. As the price of gas continues to rise, we've had to limit our delivery area. The delivery fee of $2.50/mile/month applies to those who live beyond our normal route. Note: When gas prices top $3.50, a fuel surcharge will have to be applied to all locations - within and without of our delivery area (advanced notice will be given).
What if my delivery day falls on a holiday?
What happens if I go on vacation?
Vacation Credits are available - If you will not be using our rental stock while you are away, we will credit you for the week (up to three weeks) that you are out of town. Vacation credits require a week’s notice. We reserve the right to request you turn in all rental stock items while you're away - no wet diapers can be left at your home, due to mold concerns.
What if there is severe weather on my delivery day?
Unlike the post office, we do not brave dangerous road/weather conditions. Since we are a family-run business, my children are usually with me on these diaper runs – and I will not take chances with them on poor roads. The number of diapers you have on hand should be enough to see you through the odd day that we can’t get to you. If school cancels due to poor road conditions or threatening weather on your deliver day, we will come the following day instead.
We deliver as usual on every holiday except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day and will notify you in advance of the holiday delivery schedule. That said, we are a family run business. We'd let you know as soon as possible in the rare event of a family emergency or event which would cause us to shift around your delivery day.
Where do I keep soiled diapers?
We start you out with two nylon bags. If you have a busy week, you'll fill both of them up with your dirty diapers. Each week, you'll set out both bags of soiled diapers, and receive two more with soft, fresh diapers inside. As each new diaper is soiled, simply drop it into your bag-lined hamper. Please shake any solid poo into the toilet (this doesn't occur until your little one begins eating baby food). We make every effort to return personal items which may accidently get put in with the diapers. However, we cannot be responsible for their return or the condition in which they may be returned. Please avoid putting plastic bags and plastic diapers in your hamper as they can cause damage to our equipment. Be sure to turn in all of your soiled diapers each week.
Do I have to rinse the diapers first?
No! All you have to do is take the diaper off your baby and put it in the hamper. If your baby is eating solid foods and making solid poo, please shake it into the toilet before you put the diaper in the hamper. This will cut down on diaper staining as well as pail odor. Our washing process will take care of the rest - including all the yellow curd of newborns.
What about odors?
Once in a while, wash out your hamper by filling it with hot water and a capful of shampoo or dish soap. If you like, use the citrus circles provided when you begin the service. Additional citrus circles are available for purchase. Liberally sprinkling baking soda on the soiled diapers in the hamper will reduce odors too.
How many diapers do I need?
It depends. The first few weeks call for lots and lots of diapers. Most first-time parents find it hard to believe that you really do need at least 70 diapers per week. We delivery 90 infants diapers per week - a generous amount designed to cover even the most trying week (although you can add 10 more diapers per delivery for a $7 monthly fee). We will keep track of how many diapers you have left over each week, and automatically delivering fewer if you are developing a backlog of clean diapers.
How often should I change my baby?
Regardless of what kind of diaper you use, you should change your baby at least every two hours. There is a good chance that, someday, your baby will be changing you.
When do I need to change diaper sizes?
Because babies come in all sizes and shapes, we offer many sizes of diapers. We'll happily help you choose the right one for your baby. We offer a newborn/infant diaper for up to 14 pounds, a regular diaper for 13-30 pounds, and a toddler for 20-40 pounds. Training pants are available when that time arrives. When changing sizes, be sure to turn in all of the smaller size diapers within two weeks of the time you call to request the change, so we can be sure to get all diapers changed to the larger size.
What if I received a gift certificate for the Mama’s Love Diaper Service?
Many families receive gift certificates from friends, family or co-workers. Gift certificate amounts will be applied to your account and used toward diaper service unless otherwise requested by you. Gift certificates are non-refundable.
How and when do I pay?
Like most rental services, we require payment in advance. To begin service, we require 1 month’s payment and the purchase of the starter kit. After that, we bill monthly. Invoices arrive with fresh diapers 1 week before payment is due. Late payments will be assessed a $5 charge. We're happy to work with you and will do weekly billing upon request. We accept payment in cash, check, credit card or paypal. Payments should be secured to the *outside* of the soiled diaper bag. If you're gifting someone with diaper service, we will bill you directly. Paid service is non-refundable, but may be traded for its value in diapers, covers, doublers, and/or hamper bags when service is terminated.
Office Hours are 10am – 8pm daily by phone, in person by appointment only.
