Bummis Super Whisper Wrap Diaper Covers:
If you just decide you don't like cloth diapering, I will also take these diaper covers back. I can do that, because these are awesome covers that will sell well, even used.
Okay - here's the scoop on using diaper covers:
Diaper Covers are meant to be used over the top of a cloth diaper - rather it is a prefold diaper or a fitted diaper. Their purpose is to keep the moisture and mess inside the diaper, where it belongs.
So why do I choose the Bummis Super Whisper Wrap as my cover?
Blow-Outs: When your little one exceeds the diaper - either by volume or forceful explosion, the cover should be your insurance policy. These covers do a very nice job at this - only allowing the rare blowout from a very large and forceful bowel movement.
Waterproofing: Before beginning this little adventure, I thought the only kind of covers out there were the all-plastic, crinkly, slip over the legs covers from my childhood. Wow - clever mothers have certainly changed all of that! These covers feel more like fabric than plastic. They are water-resistant to hold moisture in initially - and then actually absorb some of the wetness if the diaper is exceeded.
Fastenings: This cover is very adjustable. It has Aplix closures (velcro tabs) with an innovative overlap design that ensures a custom fit on your baby. Simply lay the cover under your baby's bottom, and fasten it around them just like you would a disposable diaper (no wrestling over the legs like a pair of underwear).
Edge Finish: A durable, heavy-duty elastic around legs and tummy will not wear out with repeated industrial washes - and the soft, smooth polyester knit bindings provide a comfortable, stretchy fit, and a leakproof seal.
Durability: I have been using the same covers on all of my babies - and they have lasted well! After 3 babies, these covers are still in good enough condition to last through the next one!
Easy Care: Just throw them in the same loads as your diapers. I use a warm wash with a long aggition and double rinse, and dry on high heat. It is best to avoid fabric softeners, bleach, or whitening agents for both covers and diapers.
When do I wash them? I generally wash them when...
A) They get completely soaked, as a very wet overnight can do.
B) A blow-out leaks into them.
C) Every 3-4 use if (A) or (B) hasn't happened.Economy: I like to use these covers with prefold diapers, such as what I sell elsewhere in this website. It is simply the most economical way to cloth diaper that I have found!
