Canvas Grocery Bags

It's a question you're asked all the time, Paper or plastic? Did you know that more than 380 million plastic bags are thrown away in the United States every year, and those plastic bags can take up to 1,000 years to biodegrade in landfills. And while paper bags do eventually biodegrade, an estimated 14 million trees a year have to be cut down to make 10 billion paper bags.

The previous information came from a quote on the Oprah show, and was brought to my attention by one of my customers. If you take a look at the nature of my creations, you’ll see that the notion of reuseable grocery bags is right up my alley - which is why I immediately took it on!

Why choose my canvas bags?
· Custom Colors: I use gorgeous 100% cotton hand-dyed quilting fabrics to create my bag accents. This ensures not only the beauty of the color, but the lifetime of it, too (the fabric has been specially treated to be colorfast in the wash). Since I make all the bags myself, I can easily put whatever color/theme you’d like for your accent around the top - I can even use fabric that you send to me if you have something special you want used.
· Stablity: A optional thin, but tough board is included in a slip-out pocket at the bottom of the bag to provide stability (removable for washings).
· Sensible Size: My standard bag is sized the same as the average plastic bag: 11 x 11 x 7. It’s big enough to hold a gallon of milk, 10 pounds of sugar, and a bottle of dishwasher cleaner - or a 4 ½ month old baby J (although this is not recommended for anything other than cute photo opportunities)!
· Choice of Handle Lengths: Depending on how you will carry these, you can either request the “hand-held” 14” length or the “over the shoulder” 24” length.
· Bonus Side Pocket: It’s just the right size for a bottle of cold water, your car keys, or the cell phone!
· Customizable: For a 1-time $5 fee and a minimum order of 5 bags, you can request a custom redesign of any aspect of the bag you wish: pocket type and placement; overall bag length, height, and depth; width or length of handles, type of material used to construct the bag, etc. A pre-construction estimate will tell you ahead of time if your changes will affect the cost of the bags requested.

When you have finished selecting your quantity, handle length, and rather or not you want the stabilizing board, be sure to choose your colors!  You can do that in the payment comment box by telling me your color/theme requests (it can be as specific as “crazy rainbow colors”, “muted orange/tan tones”, “puppies and kittens” - or as general as “anything but red” or “something hand-dyed”).
